1. Every content page includes a Rich Content Editor. This is sometimes known as a WYSIWYG or What You See Is What You Get Editor.
2. To change text size, highlight the text and then click the text size dropdown.
3. Click 14pt
4. Let's format a heading. Click Overview.
5. Click Paragraph
6. Let's select Heading 2
7. Let's do one more. Click Description.
8. Let's go back up and select Heading 2.
9. Now let's format some text. Click the textbox to highlight.
10. Click B (for BOLD)
11. Let's highlight some more text
12. Now select I (for ITALIC)
13. Let's underline some text.
14. Click U (for underline)
15. Now let's change the color of some of the text. Let's highlight a sentence.
16. Now click the text color dropdown
17. Let's try Dark Turquoise
18. Looks good! Now let's try highlighting some text. This will change the background color. Start by highlighting the indicated sentence.
19. Now let's click the highlighter dropdown menu.
20. Click Light Blue
21. Swell! Now let's look at subscripts and superscripts. Select the highlighted text.
22. Click the superscript dropdown menu.
23. We have the option here of choosing superscript or subscript. Let's go with superscript this time.
24. Now let's add a hyperlink. Select some text.
25. Click the hyperlink dropdown menu. (You can also press Ctrl + K)
26. We'll add a link to a website outside of Canvas. Click External Links.
27. Here we'll paste our Link
28. Click Done
29. Now let's add a hyperlink to content within Canvas. Click Modules.
30. Click the hyperlink dropdown menu.
31. This time we'll choose Course Links
32. We want the students here to go to Modules. Click to expand Course Navigation.
33. Scroll down and click Modules
34. Great. Now let's add a picture. Click the Images dropdown.
35. Click Upload Image
36. From here you can upload a picture from your computer. Let's click the Unsplash tab and see what stock photos they have.
37. Type books and Press Enter
38. I did a search for books. Click the highlighted image.
39. Click Submit
40. To adjust the image size, you can click and drag the corners. With the image highlighted, click the Image Options menu.
41. Let's adjust the size of the image. When you adjust the width, it will automatically adjust the height. Click the Width to change the value.
42. I entered a width of 200 for you. Click Done.
43. Let's add some media. Click the Media dropdown menu.
44. You can upload or record media. For now we'll use media that has already been uploaded to the Canvas course. Click Course Media.
45. We'll select the highlighted video from our library.
46. Now let's add a document. Click the document dropdown menu.
47. You can upload a new document or select an existing document. Click Upload Document.
48. You can drag and drop a file or search from your computer.
49. Scroll down and click Usage Right:
50. Click the option that applies
51. Click Submit
52. Lets align some text. Put your cursor on the highlighted paragraph.
53. Click the alignment menu.
54. Click center align.

56. Click the bullet menu to add either a bullet list or an ordered list.
57. Click the indent tab
58. For more formatting options, click the Format Tab dropdown menu. Here you can access various features that we explored, plus others, such as changing font families and directionality or adding a strikethrough effect.
59. That's a rundown of the essential features and functions of the Rich Content Editor. The RCE will allow you to format text on announcement pages, assignments, discussions, pages, and so on.
